Oh my god I wish I could just sleep in.. But today is an exciting day because today we go to Hong Kong Disneyland! This is how I envisioned my day!
Nope.
It was grey and gloomy and raining when we woke up. But we decided to carry on with our itinerary. We bought umbrellas last night, so nothing was going to stop us now! But 1st, breakfast! I've been to Hong Kong umpteen times and we're almost half a local there. So it seemed unnecessary then to do any research regarding where to eat. This time round I was determined to enjoy myself like a tourist! So I did my homework and listed down all the must-eat in Hong Kong. One of the most popular must eat place is Australian Dairy Co.
It's just a few minutes walk from our hotel, which reemphasized how awesome our hotel was. :)
Not surprisingly, there was already a queue outside the restaurant. But thankfully we persisted and got a seat within 10mins! Only had time for one selfie!
Like any char chan teng, it was loud and bustling. But it was amazing how efficient the place was. The food arrived within another 5mins of ordering!
The scrambled eggs were very fluffy and delicious, but our hands-down favourite was their French Toast. How good? After trying mine, Cobby couldn't resist and ordered another one for himself! YUM!!!
But we really don't know how to appreciate their drinks. They like to load it with too much milk. Bleh~ With our bodies all fueled up we were ready to go! We took the usual MTR route and soon we were on the Mickey Mouse Train to Disneyland.
Reality of travelling with toddlers. :P
I remembered taking a photo with Jolie a few years ago, so I asked Cobby to take one for us again. Look how much we've changed!
Couldn't resist taking pictures of the fountain.
We're here!
When we got in we saw Mickey and Minnie at Main Street! I couldn't pass taking photo with the ambassadors of Disneyland, so I asked Cobby to queue up while I watch Jayden. Jayden and I took some selfies while waiting.
We queued for almost 1 hour, but it was worth it. :)
The next few hours went by in a blur.
Jay fell asleep after lunch, so Cobby and I took turns. One would go on rides with Jolie while the other stay in the comforts of the air conditioned gift shops and watch Jayden sleep. I wished Jayden could join us for more rides, but I guess it can't be helped.
It rained sporadically while we were there but we were undaunted! Most rides were sheltered or indoors anyway.
We took a few more rides later but we didn't take much pictures. I guess we were there so many times that we just want to enjoy ourselves instead of taking pictures.
Besides, it was so hot and humid that many times we just have no mood to smile and pose for the camera. By late afternoon we can tell by the looks of the kids that they have reached their limits. The heat and the exhaustion had taken a toll on them and we think it was time to call it a day. After shopping for some gifts, we left Disneyland for dinner. BYE~!
We needed air conditioning! So for dinner we headed to Olympian City. If you like shopping and dining in a huge shopping centre like in Singapore, this is a place for you! We were craving for Italian pizza and pasta, (pizza, pizza, pizza!) so we chose Bene Pizza + Pasta. Tasted pretty good, Jolie even dropped her loose tooth while chomping on her pizza! I think it grossed out the diners at the next table, but we were just so happy for her. :D We even bought snacks and fresh fruit in the supermarket there. Perfect!
By the time we got back to the hotel it was already quite late. We were tired but we had so much fun too. Hopefully the next time we visit Disneyland we can spend more time there. :)

Hong Kong June 2015 - Day 1
Do you still say you woke up when you hardly slept a wink? The alarm clock went off at around 3am and I want to die. I even made a conscious effort of sleep early, but as usual, I couldn't sleep. Too many things floating around my head! Did I pack everything? What if the babies got MERS in Hong Kong? Did I miss out anything? Heck it. Let's get moving.
We got everything ready and left the house right on schedule. The babies were more awake than I expected and were quite excited in the taxi. Both Cobby and I were so sleepy. Where did their energy come from? So we checked in at the airport, went straight into the departure hall and washed up the babies.
When we boarded the plane, I first noticed that it's a Tigerair plane instead of Scoot plane. (they partnered up) The plane was the typical budget airline plane. Small, cramp and worned out. I don't know why, but Jayden was so cranky throughout the flight. He was kicking the chair (thankfully the seat in front was empty), whining, crying and making loads of trouble. They only took a short nap before the plane finally landed. Thank god. I hate flying.
Since it was still too early for lunch, we went straight to the hotel and even managed to check in early. Yeah! Oh my god the Family Room at the Eaton Hotel Hong Kong is FABULOUS!!!
There's a queen sized bed for Cobby and I in the main room with a fabulous view of the whole Nathan Road.
There's a bunk bed and sofa in the kid's room. Having a bunk bed was Jolie's wish, so I was happy I made it happened. :)
They gave EACH CHILD a free bagpack and activity book. Talk about customer delight!!!
There's free Wifi in the hotel with no password. And they even provide a complimentary handphone with free 3G and free local calls.
This is SUPER USEFUL for modern day tourists! I used it a lot for checking out where to eat and shop, and not forgetting the most important feature, GOGGLE MAP! BEST ITEM EVER. I think every hotel, even Singapore, should provide this.
There's also a TV in both sections of the room. Jolie likes to watch her cartoons in "her room" when we were relaxing in the hotel room. The toilet is clean and with a rain shower head! So shiok to have a warm rain shower after a long flight!
I think the Family room was a new addition to the hotel, so everything is clean and new. It's not very spacious, but it's really considered very big by Hong Kong standards. Most hotel rooms and even residential homes are very tight and narrow, so I think our room has met all my expectations. So happy and proud that I found this place!! Highly recommended for families! Check out their website!
Jayden share my sentiments...
After an awesome rain shower to wash away our exhaustion, we headed out for lunch. We noticed there was a beef noodle shop just opposite our hotel, so we headed there. Out of a sudden it started raining and we had to ask the kind hotel staff to ferry us across the street using the hotel umbrella. Made a mental note to buy some umbrellas for this trip!
The beef noodles looked good, the beef brisket tasted good, but the soup and noodles were abit meh.. Oh well, this is just for sustenance. We just needed some food in the tummy before naptime.
After a nap we were recharged and headed out to (庙街) Temple Street, which was just a few minutes away from our hotel. Sweet... We bought a selfie stick JUST for this trip. Nice to join the obnoxious community of taking photos with a stick in the middle of the road. Haha... so sue me. I'm a tourist! (just noticed there's a couple at the background taking a photo with a selfie stick too. LOL)
Jolie posing with a fan she just bought to match her dress..
Can't come to HK and not eat some greasy street food!
The night market was a little late in setting up. Maybe it's the rain? Maybe it's Monday? I don't know. But it was easier when it's less crowded. We bought two cute little wind-up dancing robots and some fans that night.
By the way if you constantly use alot of hair products, drop by Temple street! There's a shop that sells wholesale professional hair products. From shampoo to treatment, even hair colour and anything you need in a salon you can find them in wholesale price. 都市专业美发品: Hong Kong, 廟街224
I didn't really plan for 1st night's dinner so we just walked down the streets of Nathan Road, window shopping and enjoying Hong Kong's atmosphere.
We walked by Yoshinoya and I remembered how much I always enjoyed Hong Kong's Yoshinoya beef bowl. So a warm bowl of rice and meat sounds like a perfect way to end a day. You know how Yoshinoya tasted SOOO good when they 1st started out in Singapore? Yah that's how good it still is in HK. The standard is just different! Give it a try next time you go HK.
We walked so far we almost reached Mong Kok, so we turned back. So tired, many ups and downs today, but it was a nice 1st day. Need to rest, tomorrow we attack Disneyland!

Mother Goose visits Garden's By The Bay
Gardens By The Bay organised a Flowery Fun Times for the June school holidays where Children nursery rhymes come to live in the Gardens. Who would appreciate nursery rhymes more than small children? Of course we have to go check it out.
The best thing about going to the Flower Dome is that it would not be affected by weather. Whether it is sweltering heat or pouring rain, the temperature is always nice and cool inside.
I noticed that photos of myself seems to be reducing through the years. I cannot keep focusing on my babies and forget about myself! Must improve self worth and take more selfies!
The 2 most important people in my life!
I think this is from Old Macdonalds had a Farm.
A nice staff offered to take a family picture for us.
Mary, Mary, quite contrary. I used to have a doll that would sing this rhyme. Kind of creepy when you accidentally press the button in the middle of the night. Left quite an impression on me that doll....
Combination of Humpty Dumpty and Itsy Bitsy Spider. Jayden keep yelling "Ga Ga!!", which means creepy crawlies. Must be freaky for a kid to see such a big spider!
Was looking at the orchid when Hubby took this photo. Didn't realised that my hair was that long!
Came to the Garden's so many times but each time was still fun and enjoyable. Perhaps it has got to do with the kids. Their enthusiasm and joy makes each outing draining, yet fun!
