Well, my parents are away on tour in Europe, and MIL just helped us took care of Jolie yesterday, so I thought it would be nice if Cobby and I brought Jo out for some fun on Sunday. After waking up via "Jolie alarm clock" we headed out to our favourite breakfast location, Casurina Curry Prata! Yums, their crispy prata never fails! After prata we drove straight towards Sentosa, and reached the Port of Lost Wonder at around 10.40am. Being there for the second time, we're definitely getting better navigating our way around, but we still ended up walking back and forth looking for the ticketing area. Argh... they should put up more signage!
I always loved going to water theme parks. Somehow we always get all hot and sweaty by the time we get to the theme park, so jumping into the cool waters is always great. Unfortunately, I was just way too pregnant, so I had to sit out this one. :(
Thankfully they have lots of nice cushioned "beds" around the place, so I could rest my giant butt instead of the hard benches. Also you can order food and drinks and they will send the food to you, like a little picnic! I ordered cheese fries and a glass of ice lemon tea. Pretty good, but the weather was pretty warm and humid, so I was watching the cool waters longingly, wishing I could escape the sticky sensation.
As expected, Jolie had a great time, thanks to Cobby's company.
An hour plus into playing, the skies got pretty cloudy and we can hear the gentle rumbling of thunder. That's when they switched off the water and announced that they need to shut down the theme park temporarily due to fear of lightning. All the kids were moaning in disappointment, but I thought it was the perfect excuse to leave without making us parents look like the villain. Haha...
Just as we were going into the shower, it started to pour! We had to buy an umbrella just to get back to the car! Perfect timing for us, but I pity those who just got there. There was a family who had just arrived there and settled down next to me when the announcement came out! Oops, not a good day for them!
We planned to have lunch at this bistro by the Siloso Beach, but since it was raining, I suggested that we eat back at Vivo City instead. Besides, I really need air conditioning please!! We ate at Earl's Swensen, but I was still quite full from my little picnic, so I just ordered a calamari and scrunch off Cobby's free salad.
After lunch we headed back home and let Jo take a nap. By the time we went out for dinner, it was already quite late, so we ate at the foodcourt at Causeway Point Woodlands. Kids have such a great life isn't it? Wake up, eat, play, eat, sleep, eat some more before going back to sleep again. A great Sunday.
