I think the children had the most fun seeing all the yummy, decedent sweets laid out before them! But before they kids got to eat, we had to listen to the RC chairman's speech, then the vice chairman's speech. Just when I thought we can eat in peace, some China woman took over the mike and started promoting their Chinese tuition classes. With all the chatter of the parents, guardians and children, the China woman's sharp voice was really irritating me! But the kids were totally oblivious.
As usual, people always order too much food! Look at the number of cakes they bought! It's crazy!
After the kids had their fill of cakes and sweets, they "attacked" the many balloons there and had a great time. Many parents / guardians started to mingle around too.
After a round of fun, the teacher brought out round 2, ice creams! Jolie was like me, she got the black forest flavour and hated it. So I had to eat it (with much disgust) and gave her my vanilla. They bought too many ice cream too, so Jolie and I had to "sacrifice" by having another ice cream each. Heehee....
After the ice cream, they started an impromptu game of "hitting a balloon".
- An adult to throw a balloon into the air.
- Try to hit the floating balloon with balloon in hand.
- Scream / Shriek / Shout at the top of your lungs.
- Repeat.
Later the kids decided to "attack" the teacher. Haha, good opportunity to 报仇!
The kids had great fun. With all the sugar and balloons, who wouldn't? Us parents got some goodie bags too, and I walked home together with another Mom and her kid. In fact, I had so much fun talking that I totally forgot that I actually rode my bike to school today. So my bike was parked outside the school! But I was so busy making some last minute lunch for Jolie, and it was already way pass her nap time, so I had to wait until she's asleep before I can run out.
So after Jolie's asleep, I quickly ran to her school, all the time praying that nobody has stolen my bike and hoping that Jolie wouldn't wake up from her nap before I'm back. Thankfully my bike was still there, silently waiting for me to pick her up. When I passed the school, I peeped inside the window and saw that everybody was gone, but the teacher was still there, doing paperwork. I think this is a side of a teacher's job that most people doesn't see, there's alot of work to be done even after school has ended.
Anyway, managed to got back home with Jolie still sleeping soundly. Glad she had a good time, and to be honest, I had a pretty good time too. :)
